2001 Hunter 260 Water Ballast Trailerable Sailboat, Trawler & Camper w/Solar
This sailboat is turn-key ready. We just got back from a two month trip to Miami and the boat is ready to go again! We have previously taken a 3 month trip from Melbourne to Key West living on the boat using only solar power. We have also taken many short 1-2 month trips around the ICW.
This is a great versatile boat that we have used for sailing, trawlering with the mast down and as a camper in campgrounds.
We love the boat but it's time to go bigger so we can sail the Carribean!
FEATURES:
- The sailboat has a 9.9hp Suzuki 4-Stroke Long Shaft with the steering, throttle & forward/reverse connected to the steering pedestal. The cooling system has been flushed & a new cooling system anode installed. It has a new water pump and lower gear oil. The old oil was clean when removed. It has a slightly higher pitched prop to reduce noise & increase gas mileage (8-10 mpg if trawling).
- The sails are in great shape. Main sail has lazy jacks & a sail cover. Main sail can be stored inside or strapped to the top when trawlering or camping.
- We made extension supports for the mast at the front & rear of the sailboat to allow the roof hatch & the bimini to be open when the mast is down and being used as a camper or trawler.
- We installed Spinlock Powercleats port & starboard for the jib sheet, so you can lock and unlock the jib line with a flip of the wrist.
- We installed 440 watts of solar: Two 120 watt rotatable hard panels & Two 100 watt flexible panels that magnetic-mount to the bimini.
- We added two AGM 100AH batteries that are charged from solar and the motor charging system. There is room to add one more battery.
- We installed a 1500 Watt Power Inverter with 110 run to an outlet at the front of the boat that we used to charge our electric scooters, electronics, etc.
- A new 18 gal fuel tank was installed by removing the co*ckpit. We added quick disconnect and a fuel filter water separator. Two three gallon fuel tanks for the dinghy can be stored in the same compartment above the 18 gal tank. (We have the quick disconnects so you can easily switch between and use the tanks for the dinghy or sailboat.)
- The sailboat has the original Danforth style anchor with 15 ft chain and 150 ft rode. We installed an extended length stainless roller mount so anchor can be left on the roller when underway. Also comes with an extra Rocna style hurricane anchor.
- We installed a 4 to 1 pulley system to pull the rudder down and a CL257 Auto-Release ClampCleat that releases the rudder if it hits an object underwater.
- It has a Ray Marine Tiller Auto Pilot with remote and a Ray Marine depthfinder that both work great.
- We installed a 95 cu ft refrigerator that has separate doors for the freezer & refrigerator. We also installed a 12V cigarette lighter outlet under it for power.
- It has a pressurized water system for the sink with a winterization valve.
- It has a butane stove & a portable toaster oven that runs on the inverter. We used it to bake bread, cookies, cakes, dinners, etc.
- We still have the original Hunter 260 table, front-V cushion & curtains, and the two blue seat cushions that were removed for the refrigerator.
- We installed a 19in TV w/remote and a wall mounted fan w/variable speed control.
- 12V cigarette lighter outlets were installed at the front port & starboard sides of the couch and on each side of the rear bed.
- The sailboat comes with a Sealion galvanized trailer with Dexter greasable torsion axles, disc brakes, LED lights and good tires. The bearings have been greased after each launch.
- For an extra $1500 we can include a 10.5ft Inflatable with Aluminum Flooring. It has a 6hp Mercury that runs perfect with new oil & a new water pump. One can easily haul the inflatable & motor to the launch site in the sailboat. It can be quickly inflated and setup prior to launching.
