Thanks to Dr. TUAJUANDA JORDAN, president of St. Mary's College of Maryland and Co-Chair of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching's Postsecondary Commission, for making time to visit us at The City University of New York. I enjoyed talking about the work of the Commission and our goals to identify powerful levers to propel more low-income, underrepresented, and first-generation students through postsecondary education into purposeful careers.

Honored to have two personal friends and longtime friends of The City University of New York as guests on "Cafe con Felo" on CUNY TV: Richard Buery, CEO at Robin Hood, and Cass Conrad, President of the The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation. We discussed the impact of their philanthropic support in student success, post-graduation outcomes, emergency grants, and the role CUNY plays in fighting poverty in NYC. I was delighted to be visited by former The City University of New York Trustee Freida Foster to discuss potential collaborations. She is the Vice Chair for the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board, a member of the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy Dean’s Advisory Council and a director of the Harlem Community Development Corporation.

Thanks to The City College of New York for inviting me to the NYC Future of Energy Conference. The conference addressed the vital question of how, in the face of a changing climate, does NYC meet the twin challenges of obtaining energy sustainably and distributing that energy efficiently to its citizens.
