"A Manticore...you sent a damn Manticore after me to kill me..." I muttered under my breath, notching an arrow in my bow as we crept around the barriers of the camp. Arrow sniffed the ground outside around me, trying to track the monster's scent so I could take it down.
A year has since past since the events of the Summer Solstice. That time of the year is rolling around again, and Percy and I have still been dealing with the effects of people wanting us dead. I had celebrated my seventeenth birthday two weeks ago (which included a lot of Grover making fun of Percy, who's birthday wasn't for another four months) and spent it ALSO being chased by a manticore when Percy, Annabeth, Grover and I convinced Chiron to let us do a picnic outside the walls.
"You smell it yet, buddy?" I asked Arrow quietly, trying to keep my voice down in case the monster was close to our position.
Not yet, Luna, his voice echoed in my head, but I suspect that it is somewhere close to us.
"Come on you stupid monster. I've got things I need to go see and do,"
A snarl sounded out from behind me and I whipped around, only to find nothing there. Arrow began to growl, circling around my legs in a protective way. The snarls slowly became louder, indicating that the monster was close, but I couldn't figure out exactly what direction it was coming from.

I whipped around to my left at the sound of Arrow's voice in my head, ducking and rolling out of the way as the Manticore appeared, shooting spikes towards us from his tail. I examined the monster, trying to find a weak spot. Every time a Manticore was sent after us it always seemed to develop a new weak spot.
It's human head was growling at me, using the voice of a lion which was it's body structure. It's tail was pointed at us in the air, ready to shoot spikes if we dared make a move.
Tie him down, Luna! I did as Arrow said, discarding of my bow on the ground as I held out my hands. Roots sprouted from the ground, blocking the spikes that the monster tried to shoot at us. I directed the roots to the monster's legs and tail, smiling as they wrapped around them, bringing the monster down to the ground as Arrow charged forward, biting the ankle of it's back foot.
"Nice going buddy," I praised Arrow, knowing he had figured out the weak spot this time was on the hind leg. I walked forward, holding out my hand once more as fire consumed the monster's hind leg, putting it through pain before it finally disappeared into a cloud of dust, seeping into the ground and going back to hell.
"Nice job, Arrow. Nice job,"

"Nice to see you back, and alive," Annabeth joked, walking towards me and enveloping me in a tight hug. I laughed, hugging her back tightly.
"It was just a Manticore, nothing I haven't dealt with before. Was definitely not a happy camper when Chiron told me there was another monster outside the barriers."
"Whoever is sending these monsters isn't very bright," Grover called out to us, walking towards us with Percy right behind him.
"That's what I said to myself," I told him, patting his shoulder once before heading straight for Percy, wrapping my arms around his neck as his found their way around my waist. I grinned, planting a kiss on his lips.
"Guessing it didn't go so well?" I asked, pulling away and smiling sadly at the dejected look on his face.
"You're wonderful boyfriend just had to go save the poor guy that was stuck on the bottom. He almost won, but I guess he'll have to settle for second place...as always," I rolled my eyes, keeping one arm draped over Percy's shoulders as he kept both of his on my waist as I turned to look at the daughter or Ares, Clarisse.
"Clarisse, Percy saved the world, and that's more than you've ever done,"
"Really? What about you, Luna? That's all you've ever done as well," I untangled myself from Percy's arms, making a move for Clarisse. He quickly grabbed me again, tugging me backward as I smirked at the girl.
"I would watch your tongue, Clarisse. Would be a shame if all of your clothes suddenly disintegrated to ash, almost like they were burned..." she scoffed, tunring on her heal and stalking away from us quickly.
"That fact that you can intimidate Clarisse..." Grover muttered, still astonished as we watched the daughter of the god of war walk away. I laughed as Percy tied me up in his embrace again, pulling me into his side.
"Mr. D is forcing me to stay after and clean all everything up from the event," Percy informed me, looking down at me. I smiled at Grover and Annabeth, waving them goodbye. Annabeth took one last look at us with a tiny smile before I turned back to Percy.
"I'll help you out,"
"He said you need to go meet him and Chiron. There's something you guys need to talk about or something,"
"Then Arrow will stay with you," I whistled, and Arrow was by our side in seconds, pushing his head against Percy's leg.
"Glad I can have my favorite Ardelean beside me," I pulled away from our almost kiss, scoffing with a laugh as I pushed away from Percy, stalking off toward the Big House. "I love you!"
I flipped him off, turning around to see the astonished look on his face. I laughed, blowing him a kiss.
"I love you too!" I called back once I had turned back around, continuing on to find Chiron and Mr. D.
